What is a BIC code?

The BIC code (Bank Identifier Code), popularly known as the SWIFT code, consists of 8 characters and identifies the bank for international transactions. In the case of Walutomat transactions, the BIC is needed when transferring currency by SWIFT, e.g. USD from an account in a Polish bank to a Walutomat currency account in another bank.

The BIC code of a particular bank can be found on its website.
